Hello, I’m Kathy Smith, the founder and instructor at ​Genius Reading Academy, and I’m affectionately ​known by students as Ms. Kathy. With over 16 years of ​experience in elementary education, I am dedicated to ​providing the highest quality reading tutoring. My ​exciting education career has spanned elementary ​classrooms, higher education, contractual education ​services, and children’s literature.

For the past few years, I have traveled to ​schools to provide teacher coaching, ​professional development, and high-​dosage tutoring in Pre-K through fifth ​grade. I believe in personalized attention, ​relationship-building, and data-driven ​instruction to help children reach their ​full potential. I look forward to working ​with you and your child to achieve ​extraordinary reading success.
